Shipping & Returns

Shipping

We use Australia Post service to ship our products. We offer a variety of shipping methods at different costs. We dispatch your orders from Melbourne Metropolitan in Victoria, so the duration will vary depending on your location and if it is in a remote area.

Shipping - Within Australia

Standard (3 - 7 days*) - This service is very popular for smaller and lighter packages. Costs starts at $2 and auto-calculated depending on the order. Tracking is only available for shipping costs from $5.00 onwards.

Express (1-2 days*) - Priority shipping and it is the fastest. Guarantees next day delivery if it is within their postal network or within the same state. It has tracking.

Local Pickup - Within Australia

This option is available for selection during checkout. The meeting point for pickup is at BOYD Library Southbank (207 City Road, Southbank VIC 3006).

Mon - Fri only. (Excluding public holiday or any other scheduled breaks)

You will ONLY be contacted via our website's messaging system to schedule the time and day for pickup when the order is ready. Processing time is the same as any other regular orders.

NOTE: This is merely a meeting point. The library has no obligation to assist nor has any affiliation with us.

Shipping - Overseas

** Economy (6 - 21 days) - This service is the cheapest but it is the slowest. IT CONTAINS NO TRACKING. PLEASE USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Basically, we strap your package with your address on it to a snail and leave it outside the door. Pray that it reaches you! (Just kidding! But you get our point, yeah?). 

Standard (6 - 11 days*) - This service is recommended as it contains tracking and is popular for all packages in any shape and sizes.

Express (2 - 4 days) - Priority shipping and incredibly fast. It contains tracking and also requires signature upon delivery which guarantees that it reaches it's destination.

* Signature on Delivery (optional) - This option is available and means that a signature is required upon delivery. This guarantees the package arrives safely at someone's hand at it's destination. Additional costs apply.

** Economy Shipping is only offered to certain countries and subject to change on a case by case basis. 

For International Customers 

When ordering from Modeller's Workshop, the recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country. Orders shipped to countries outside Australia may be subject to import tax and customs duties levied by the destination country once a shipment enters the country.

From our experience, most foreign customers are not charged when they receive the shipment, however, any additional charges for customs clearance must be paid by the recipient. Customs policies vary widely from country to country and we recommend contacting your local customs office for further information. If you do get charged an additional fee, the carrier will expect payment at the time of delivery. If you refuse the shipment because of these charges, or if an order is rejected by customs due to item restriction, or if the order is returned because the local post is unable to locate your address, we can refund you for the cost of the products (which does not include any shipping or return shipping fees) once the package is returned and processed by us. Please note that packages returned by customs can sometimes take a very long time to return, and in extreme circumstances can take as long as 6 months.

Returns Policy for Australian Buyers

Items must be in new, unopened and within 10 days of delivery in order to consider a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

Damage to product packaging or boxes are not considered product damage. We are only able to consider returns in cases of damage or defects of the actual merchandise itself.

We reserve the right to reject claims of manufacturing defects on items in cases of obvious user abuse.

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
